My whole life, I've been (mildly) obsessed with music. Playing, listening, dissecting, learning, collaborating, and practicing. When you love something, it's pretty easy to spend a lot of time figuring out how it works and you get excited about sharing the best of it with the people around you. This is the basis for why my musical journey is such a perfect metaphor for my business as a mortgage advisor.
My clients, my team, my realtors, escrow agents, and appraisers are like my
"band-mates." I've got to be in tune with their abilities, tendencies, and expertise. And being in good communication with these band-mates is essential to creating a harmonious performance.
This is why I listen to my clients. WE HAVE TO LISTEN TO BE IN TUNE! (Said every band leader ever.) Not only that, but we have to be perceptive and adaptable when issues arise. The ability to creatively improvise while still keeping everyone "on the same page" is KEY!
My 20s and 30s were spent playing in, and producing for various ensembles, bands, projects, and DJ gigs around the NW, and it still totally floats my boat when I see the light bulb go off in someone's head-whether it's because of great new music, or because of how my clients are empowered by what they learn.
Music may be considered a universal language, but Mortgage is definitely NOTand I believe that my calling is to teach my clients the lyrics of lending so that they'll be confident when it's their turn to audition for a loan. This process is about you becoming comfortable in the home you're excited about. I'm just here to help orchestrate so that it all plays out just the way we want it to!
